This policy explains what information Henry (henrydog.app) collects, why, and what we do with it. We collect as little as we can to make the app work.
What we collect
- Your answers about your dog: name, breed, age group, weight, energy, home type, health and sensitivity options, daily time. These are stored with your plan so we can show it to you. We don't ask for your name to write a plan.
- Your email address, only if you pay. Stripe gives it to us so we can send your receipt and plan link, and so "Restore purchase" can find your plan.
- Payment details are entered on Stripe's checkout page and handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
- A one-way hash of your IP address (not the address itself), kept briefly to stop the site being flooded with requests.
- Basic, first-party usage statistics: the first page of each visit, whether the visit came from a search engine, social media, another site or directly, and whether a plan was started, written or bought. These are tied to a random ID stored in a cookie, not to your name, email or IP address. We don't use Google Analytics, advertising trackers or third-party analytics.
Cookies and local storage
- henrysid: a session cookie that protects forms from cross-site requests.
- henry_plan: remembers your most recent plan link on this device for up to a year.
- henry_v and henry_lp: the random visitor ID (one year) and the landing page of the current visit (until you close the browser), used only for the statistics above.
- Your answers are also saved in your browser's local storage while you fill in the questions, so you can leave and come back. They never leave your device until you finish.
Who else handles your data
- Stripe processes payments (Stripe's privacy policy).
- Our web host stores the website and database.
- Google Fonts serves the site's fonts, so your browser connects to Google's servers when pages load.
We don't sell your information or use it for advertising.
How long we keep it
Plans and their orders are kept so your plan link keeps working. Rate-limiting records are deleted after a day. You can ask us to delete your plan and any email address linked to it at any time.
Your choices
You can block or clear cookies in your browser; the app still works, but it won't remember your plan on that device. To see, correct or delete information we hold about you, email hi@henrydog.app. If you are unhappy with how we handle a privacy request, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top will change too.
